The best windshield for any bike is a fork mounted adjustable unit, like those sold through National Cycle or Rifle. NC has one specifically designed for the Savage, pricey, but you get what you pay for. Saddlebags that fit (look) properly are small slant bags if you have the stock jumbo rear turn signals and want to keep them in one piece. Use the cheesey little chrome widgets that the factory markets as bag supports. I ran medium slant bags for a couple days, and decided bags on a Savage are rather pointless, at least for me. Slant bags don't hold much due to their awkward shape. If looks don't matter, you can't beat a set of bolt on Road King style soft look hard bags (Suzuki versions are for the Marauder and LC1500 if you want to stay all Suzuki, just pass on the pathetic factory windshield, the plastic isn't very good optically if you are short and need to look through the windshield instead of over it like you are supposed to). Mount the rear signals in the back panel of the bag. Looks funny, but they hold a short ton of junk.
